The Cape Cod Cooperative Extension is seeking an OSHA Research Assistance Intern for the Spring semester 2019. Applications are due by December 15, 2018.
The OSHA Research Assistant Intern will work directly with the Municipal Assistance Coordinator at the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. He or she will assist in researching all public employee job listings, job descriptions, and most severe and frequent hazards associated with them for all public sector workers in Barnstable County. The project is to address the updates made to OSHA Safety for Public Sector Law M.G.L. c149 s6 1/2 from the Department of Labor Standards.
•Must have basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, Google Docs
•Ability to use the internet and telephone
Education level: Open to all undergraduates who are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
What can you expect to gain from this internship? By the end of the semester, you will have developed or honed effective research skills, have a comprehensive understanding of OSHA and DSL regulations, understand public sector employment, understand union associations, understand worker safety challenges, understand job description formatting.
This internship will also be offered during Spring 2019.
