The Department of Health and Environment is seeking a Laboratory Assistant Intern for Fall, 2019. Applications for the Fall 2019 semester are due by August 15, 2019.
The Laboratory Assistant will provide assistance to lab analysts in the preparation of solutions and standards. To assist in sample preps for analyses, preparation of equipment and supplies. Based on the student’s previous coursework, the internship could include learning various analytical instrumentation or microbiology.
- Dexterity in handling small items.
- Ability to lift up to 10lbs.
- Be able to read and follow directions.
Education level: Open to undergraduates who are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and have had coursework in Environmental Science, Biology, and Chemistry.
What can you expect to gain from this internship? By the end of the semester, you will have solid experience in working in a DEP Certified Laboratory for analytical testing of drinking water and waste water.
